Kids wakesurf boards: what size to get
Short answer: most kids should ride a 4'2" wakesurf board (rated up to 110 lbs) or a 48" wake skim board. For kids under 100 lbs, our Grom board is the Cassidy Pro shape in a 3'8" kids size.
Kids wakesurf boards
- 4'2" boards: our smallest regular size, rated up to 110 lbs. The Lily is our most beginner-friendly shape, so a 4'2" Lily makes a great first board. The Cassidy also comes in 4'2" for kids who love spins.
- Grom (3'8"): for kids under 100 lbs. It's the Cassidy Pro shape in a kids size, so kids learn on the same shape the pros ride. Shop the Grom.
Kids wake skim boards
Kids should ride a 48" Vedder skim board. Skim boards are the easiest to get up on, but they're loose and take more practice to ride.
Sharing a board with the family?
Pick the size for the heaviest rider who'll use it. A board sized for a parent will be too big for most kids to learn on, so a kid who rides a lot is better off with their own 4'2" or Grom.
Buying it as a gift?
Order by December 12 for delivery before Christmas. Not sure on size? A Kanuk gift card lets them pick. See our gift guide.
