CJ Koenig here! I'm 18 years old and I first started wake surfing in August of 2021 when my Dad rented a boat on lake Charlevoix, Michigan. Three days from sunset to sundown, we laughed, cried, fell and managed to carve up the lake a little! We couldn’t get enough of it! I was hooked. The month following, Dad decided to surprise the family with a brand new G23… and that was all she wrote!   As the newest member of the Kanuk team, I have surfed in eight competitions over the last two years. As an amateur in 2023, I competed in the Conroe classic and placed third. In 2024, I moved up to the semi-pro skim division and podiumed five times at Conroe (1st), Southern Surf Slam (2nd), WWA Nationals (3rd), WWA Masters (2nd) and WSWS Worlds (3rd). The highlight of this season was being chosen to compete for Team USA in the 2024 IWWF World Wakesurf Championships in Hong Kong. Team USA prevailed and took home the gold medal!! I plan to start competing at the pro level in 2025.   I'm super stoked to be a part of Team Kanuk. They manufacture the best custom, surf and skim boards in the world…period!   Cheers to all!  YEW!!
